Doggie Day added to promotional schedule, presented by WAGS

Madison, WI – June 9, 2009. Mallards fans, your wishes have been granted; Doggie Day has now been added to the 2009 promotional schedule! Thanks to the support from Wisconsin Academy for Graduate Service Dogs (WAGS) coordinator Aaron Backer and board member & NBC News Anchor John Stofflet, dogs will be allowed at the “Duck Pond” on Sunday, June 28. Also, all dog owners will receive a free bleacher ticket (one per dog) upon showing their furry friend to the Mallards box office (day of game only).

WAGS’ mission is to promote functional independence and improved quality of life for persons with physical mobility impairments through partnerships with highly skilled service dogs.

It is a non-profit organization that depends on donations, contributions, and grants from foundations, businesses, and individuals to fund its mission.

Be sure to stop by the WAGS booth near the front entrance to the ballpark to learn more about the organization and ways you can help.

Numerous dishes of water will be spread throughout the park and a local veterinarian will also be on-hand in the case of an emergency.
