Fall Internship:
• Assist marketing staff with donation requests and public appearances • Assist the ticket sales staff with client list compilation and distribution • Assist the public relations department on statistical analysis, press releases and player contracts • Gain broad experience working for a sports organization

Game Day Staff:
Each job has its own start and end time, but typically our game day staff will be working roughly two hours before the game starts until the game ends. Games can last anywhere from 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours. PART-TIME CAMERA OPERATORS NEEDED: Great for experience! (Un-paid) Each summer the Mallards stream all 35 home games online using a four-camera setup, and are in need of 15 to 20 operators to help work the two cameras located on the first and third-base lines. This is a great opportunity for those in either high school or college to gain some valuable experience shooting a live sporting event while using top-of-the-line video cameras on a tri-pod. These positions are un-paid, but look great on resumes! Typically camera operators report to Warner Park 30 to 45 minutes prior to that night's first pitch, and are free to leave once the game ends.

Late Winter / Spring Internship: Sales Internship
• Make cold calls to restaurants, equipment companies, day cares, etc to sell tickets and set up trade deals • Set up meetings with potential clients • Design proposals and contracts for clients and help implement them • Create itineraries for visiting teams • Assist with staffing and training of summer part-time staff • Help with promotional appearances (mascot appearances, Kids Expo, etc.) • Assist the Ticket Manager with printing tickets, placing orders, and delivering tickets

Every summer the Madison Mallards will hire 8 – 10 interns to help fill vital roles within the team's front office. We will begin holding interviews after October 1st. All interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to

and follow up with a phone call. In your letter please detail which TWO internships you'd like to apply for & rank them #1 & #2.
The internships are full-time positions and require a full commitment of your summer. Interns will not only work every home game, but will also help to handle all day to day responsibilities in the office on off-days as well. 80 – 90 hours per week during a home stand is common.
Below are details about the internships being offered in 2010:
PR Internship (Writing samples are required in order to receive an interview!)
- Provide daily content for Mallardsbaseball.com (includes game previews & post-game recaps) - Write unique feature stories in the team's game-day insert, the "Quack Report" - Serve as the team's official scorer; includes learning Pointstreak software (previous experience scoring baseball games is required) - Help assist local media with interview requests, both television and print
Video Board Internship - Photoshop experience is required; you will create video board slides and animations throughout the season & be the main operator of the full-color outfield video board during each Mallards game. - Must be able to multi-task and have good organizational skills (it's a fast-paced gig).
Webcast Producer Internship -The Webcast Producer will be in charge of operating a switcher and a four-camera set-up to broadcast each Mallards game online at Northwoodsleague.tv. - This position requires you to "think on your feet" even though you're sitting down, and previous experience with Final Cut Pro on a MacBook isn't required, but will improve your standing. - Creativity is necessary; you will be looked upon to create short videos that can be used both online and on the video board (think MTV Cribs, one-on-one player interviews, & highlighting ballpark features.)
Marketing Internship (Game-day only --UNPAID) - Help implement sponsorship contracts - Coordinate all on-field promotions and pre-game activities (National Anthem, first pitches etc…) - Organize and attend mascot/player appearances in the community - Develop positive relationships with fans, clients and community members to help promote the Madison Mallards
Hospitality/Ticketing Internship - Work directly with Customer Service Manager to ensure that all large and small company outings have a more than enjoyable experience at the ballpark - Help manage and schedule a staff of game day employees - help with incoming calls, walk-up ticket orders - Help ensure suites are properly set-up for the evening and work with usher manager to make sure each area has wristbands and ushers - Assist with other special groups in the park (Duck Blind Parties, Home Plate Club, suite food/beer orders, etc.)
