Schmitt - Owner
Schmitt’s passion for the game and extraordinary attention to detail are two big reasons why Mallards baseball has become a summertime mainstay in Madison. Since 2001 his teams have made the playoffs four times, including a Northwoods League Championship in 2004, and last season the team surpassed the unprecedented 1 Million mark in total franchise attendance. Also the owner of the Shoe Box and Rookies Sports Bar in Black Earth, WI, Steve is actively involved in the community and is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. |

Vern Stenman -
General Manager
Stenman, the 2003 and 2005 Northwoods League Executive of the Year, enters his twelfth season in the NWL and seventh as the Mallards General Manager. His innovative promotional ideas and steady vision have contributed to the team’s rising attendance each of the past seven seasons—including consecutive 200,000+ attendances in 2006 & ’07. Prior to Madison he was an intern and later Assistant GM for the St. Cloud River Bats from 1997 to 2000 before taking a corporate account position with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild for a year. Stenman and wife Kallie welcomed their first child in September, daughter Chloe Mae. He is originally from St. Cloud, MN. |

CJ Thieleke - Field Manager
Thieleke enters his fourth season as the Mallards Manager after leading the team to a 38-29 mark and NWL record 16-game winning streak. He has compiled a 120-91 overall record in Madison. Prior to being promoted to Manager, Thieleke was an assistant coach with the Mallards for two seasons, including the 2004 Championship season. He is also an assistant coach at MATC in Madison. Thieleke was the 1994 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and played at the University of Iowa for three seasons before spending two seasons in the Minnesota Twins organization. |

John Schmeltzer - Group Sales & Operations Manager
Schmeltzer enters his fifth season with the Mallards and his third as the Group Sales & Operations Manager. He was a Marketing/Operations Intern in 2004 and Marketing Director in 2005. Schmeltzer completed his Masters degree in Sports Administration from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in May 2005. He is originally from Oregon, WI. |

Nick Staehler - Group Sales & Operations Manager
Staehler enters his third season as a full-time Mallards employee as Group Sales and Operations Manager. He started as an Operations Intern for the Mallards in 2005. A 2005 graduate of UW-Whitewater, Staehler is originally from Kewaskum, WI.

Koby Schellenger - Corporate Service & Marketing Manager
Schellenger enters his second year as the Corporate Service and Marketing Manager. A 2005 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he worked for the Mallards as a part-time employee in that same year. He was also an Operations Intern for the Chicago Cubs Triple-A affiliate in Des Moines, IA in 2006. Schellenger is originally from Oshkosh, WI. |

Jerrad Radocay - Corporate Sales & Media Relations Manager
Radocay enters his second year as the Corporate Sales and Media Relations Manager. He was an Operations Intern for the Mallards in 2006. A 2004 graduate of Winona State University and member of the baseball team, Radocay is originally from Watertown, WI. |

Liz Kern - Customer Service & Ticket Sales Manager
Kern enters her second year as the Customer Service and Ticket Sales Manager. A 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and member of the softball team, she worked in the Mallards ticket office during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Kern is originally from Beaver Dam, WI. |

Kevin Caloia - Community Events & Duck Blind Manager
Caloia managed the Mallards Great Dane Duck Blind from 2004 to 2006 as a seasonal employee. A 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he enters his first full year as the team’s Community Events Manager along with maintaining responsibilities in the Duck Blind. Caloia is originally from St. Charles, IL. |
