![]() Gaedele had arguably the most productive season in Mallards' history for his impressive body of work in 2010. Madison, WI - September 7, 2010. The Madison Mallards are excited to announce outfielder Kyle Gaedele (Valparaiso) has been named the Northwoods League's top prospect according to Perfect Game, baseball's largest and most comprehensive scouting service. Gaedele had arguably the most productive season in Mallards' history as the 6'4" right-hander from Arlington Heights, IL, was named to both the NWL Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star Teams. He showed his versatility while he hit for average, power, and displayed speed on the bases. Gaedele finished third in the league in home runs (9), fifth in stolen bases (26), and in the top-15 in batting average (.315), slugging percentage (.498), and RBI (38). "It's a great honor being chosen as the top prospect from scouts and managers around the league," said Gaedele. "It is very humbling to know that others think highly of my God-given talents and potential. Something like this just gives you more fire and passion to get better everyday and that's exactly what I'm trying to do." He also set four Mallard single-season records for hits (88), runs (56), at-bats (279), and the aforementioned home runs (9). Seven other Madison players were named to the Perfect Game top-50 prospect list, including: #11: Harold Riggins (NC State) #15: Reed Gragnani (Virginia) #23: Tyler Jones (LSU) #26: J.R. Graham (Santa Clara) #30: Lucas LeBlanc (Delgado CC--now a member of the Boston Red Sox organization) #32: Adam Davis (Illinois) #38: Josh Parr (Illinois) The entire top-50 list can be found by clicking here. The Mallards are members of the 16-team Northwoods League and play a 70-game schedule beginning in June.
