Last season as a freshman Winiarski led the Wolfpack with 58.2 innings pitched while posting a 6-2 record and 3.53 ERA. He also pitched a perfect game on April 3, 2008 versus Highland Community College. As of May 14 the Wisconsin Rapids-native led the team in innings pitched (51), wins (6), and appearances (13), en route to a miniscule 1.94 ERA. He was recently named the 2009 MATC Male Sportsperson of the Year, a year after teammate Barker received the same award.
