Profile

As a freshman Gorton appeared in 12 games, starting one, and posted a 2-0 record and 1.97 ERA while striking out 20 batters in 32 innings. Last summer he played in 23 games for Wenatchee of the West Coast League, starting in 21, and hit .289 with 10 RBI and 10 walks. Gorton also made 10 pitching appearances, all in relief, and went 1-1 with an unscathed 0.00 ERA.
